Why
C.A.S.C.A.D.E ?
It’s in the letters!
It spells that children and adolescents are welcome to come to us for support or counselling when they are confronted by the illness or death of someone in their life.
Are you....
....suffering because someone you love has died?
....living with or helping to care for someone who is ill?
Do you....
....feel unhappy and unsettled following the illness or death of someone close?
....think that no one understands how it feels?

Would you....
....like someone to talk to who would try and understand how it feels for you?

Cascade....
....may also make you think of water. When you are facing the death of someone you love it can feel like fast flowing water. Some people find they shed a lot of tears, others just feel that they are carried along by a powerful stream.
Everyone feels different, everyone deserves to be helped through it.

Who Can Help Me?
You may feel like too many people are trying to help or you may feel like no one is helping. Support won’t take the pain away but it will help you get through the difficult time ahead. Getting some support is a bit like wearing a life jacket! It won’t get you out of the deep water but it will help you stay afloat.

We know that you have family, friends and teachers but sometimes it is difficult to talk to those you know well. You may also want to meet someone your own age, who is in a similar situation.

Cascade
....might be able to help you find someone you feel can help. You can ring us yourself, or ask a member of your family, a parent or carer to ring for you. We will help as much as we can, as soon as we can. If you are under 14 we may need to ask the adult responsible for you before we offer you help.
